Job Description (internal):
Purchasing and Sourcing
Purchase merchandise by studying products by category, market needs and customers preference,
Follow up with suppliers regarding issues with product quality, consistency, functionality or price.
Responsible for the consistency of product quality from one batch to the next.
Work with various other departments to manage product promotions.
Source the best pricing and quality for products available.
Planning and Inventory Management
Analyze past, present and future sales trends to determine appropriate PO quantities.
Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing vendor or merchandise information.
Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Cooperate with planner and import logistics dept. to arrange inbound shipments and documentation for importation.
Manage overstock and understock of the inventory.
Vendor Relationships and Negotiation
Provide merchandise information by answering questions and requests from both internal and external personnel.
Identify current and future products development by communicating with our sales, marketing and customer service teams.
Contribute team effort by assisting other departments with merchandise knowledge or inventory questions as needed.
Maintain and develop and maintain relationships with current and potential vendors or suppliers.
Minimum 3 years previous working experience in international or domestic purchasing
Experienced in working with overseas or domestic vendors, supplier or manufactories
Strong knowledge in Excel and analysis skills
Excellent time management and multitask skills
Must be detail oriented, and highly organized
Ability to work effectively as a team member, across project teams, and independently
